As a runner for over 30 years, I've tried many different types of massage and other therapies. They ranged from Accupuncture to Rolfing and from deep tissue massage to Reflexology. I swore by some of the methodologies I tried and swore at others!
In 2005 I was introduced to Trager. I didn't immediately fall in love with the Trager Approach because my mind was already made up that in order for massage to be beneficial, there had to be a certain amount of discomfort involved. In spite of this mindset, I just couldn't dismiss this gentle method. I quickly began to realize I was receiving all the benefits I'd gotten from my more aggressive methodologies without the discomfort that sometimes accompanied them. Before long I was taking classes and knew I wanted to share this incredible practice with others.
Trager has made me more aware of my body and of how I react to stress and tension. Trager has taught me how to use gentle methods to bring health and healing into my own body, even when I do too much and feel the effects of over working it. These Trager self-care practices are useful and fun and help encourage physical and mental flexibility and relaxation.
I want you to experience Trager foryourself. It may become a life-changing practice for you as well. Please take some time to view the pages of this site to learn more about Trager and how it might benefit you. For more information visit the national Trager site at www.tragerus.org
